Admission for Non Saudi Students

 

King Saud University is considered one of the leading educational institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering diverse learning opportunities for international students through distinguished scholarship programs. KSU seeks to attract distinguished students from around the world, contributing to the enrichment of the academic environment and the promotion of cultural diversity on campus.

King Saud University admits non-Saudi students under 2 broad categories that differ in admission requirements, benefits and programs available. For further information, click on the links below.

1.   Non-Resident Applicants

Non-residents may apply through two tracks; external scholarships and fee-based bachelor’s programs in Health Sciences. Applicants may review the admission requirements outlined below and apply via the following link:

A.   External Scholarships

King Saud University offers external scholarships to international applicants residing outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The requirements and benefits of external scholarships are detailed below.

Admission Requirements for External Scholarships

1.      The applicant must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent from their home country, recognized for admission to the intended program.

2.      The applicant must obtain a valid SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) score of no less than 1010.

3.      The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years of age.

4.      The applicant must have obtained their high school diploma within the last five years.

5.      The applicant's home country government must approve study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for countries that impose this requirement on Saudi students.

6.      The applicant must not currently hold another scholarship from any educational institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

7.      All certificates and supporting documents must be properly attested by the relevant authorities as determined by the university.

8.      The applicant must not have been dismissed/expelled from any educational institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

9.      The applicant must not currently be enrolled at another university, whether inside or outside the Kingdom.

10.  The applicant must not have previously obtained a bachelor's degree.

11.  The applicant must pass the medical examination required by applicable regulations and guidelines.

12.  The university may require the applicant to provide a recommendation from a recognized body, institution, or public figure.

13.  The university may require the applicant to pass an interview, a written examination, or both, as a condition for admission into the program.

B.    Fee-based Bachelor’s Programs in Health Sciences

Self-sponsored non-residents may apply to health sciences’ programs after fulfilling the requirements detailed below. Applications to the programs are via the following link:

Admission Requirements for Fee-based Health Sciences’ Programs

Applicants should fulfill the following requirements in addition to those listed under the Admission Requirements for External Scholarships:

1.      A minimum SAT score of 1200 is required to be considered for admission to the Medicine and Surgery program.

2.      Applicants to the College of Medicine must have obtained their high school diploma within the last two years.

3.      Applicants to health colleges (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Prince Sultan College for Emergency Medical Services, Applied Medical Sciences and Nursing) must not have any disabilities.

* Students accepted in the Medicine and Surgery program must achieve a cumulative GPA of no less than (4.5 out of 5.0) in the first year’s courses, as specified in the approved study plan, in order to continue in the program.




 

2.  Resident Applicants

Residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may apply through two tracks; internal scholarships and fee-based bachelor’s programs.

A.   Internal Scholarships

King Saud University offers scholarships to residents of the Kingdom who fulfill the requirements detailed below.

General Admission Requirements

1.      The applicant must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent from within or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Certificates issued outside the Kingdom must be accredited by the Ministry of Education, and the qualification must be accepted for enrollment in the desired program.

2.      The applicant must hold a valid residence permit (Iqama) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

3.      The applicant must have obtained their high school diploma within the last five years.

4.      The applicant must hold a valid score from the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas) for both the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) and the Achievement Test (Tahsili) in accordance with the admission criteria for the desired program.

5.      Applicants to the academically distinguished students’ programs must obtain a weighted score of no less than 95, according to the approved admission criteria.

6.      The university may require the applicant to pass an interview, a written examination, or both, as a condition for admission into the program.

7.      The applicant must be medically fit and capable of completing the requirements of the academic program.

8.      The applicant must not have been dismissed/expelled from King Saud University or any other university or academic institution for disciplinary or academic reasons.

9.      The applicant must not currently be enrolled at another university, whether inside or outside the Kingdom.

10.  The applicant must not have previously obtained a bachelor's degree.

11.  The applicant must be no younger than 17 and no older than 25 years of age.

B.    Admission for Fee-based Bachelor’s Programs

 The university allows non-Saudi residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who hold a valid legal residency (Iqama), to apply for admission to bachelor’s programs on a fee-paying basis, in accordance with the admission percentages determined through the national platform for unified admission.

General Admission Requirements for Non-Saudi Applicants (Fee-based Programs) – King Saud University

1.      The applicant must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent from within or outside Saudi Arabia. Certificates issued outside the Kingdom must be accredited by the Ministry of Education.

2.      The applicant must hold a valid residency permit (Iqama) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

3.      No more than two years (the current year and the one prior) must have elapsed since obtaining the high school diploma for applicants to the College of Medicine, and no more than five years for applicants to all other bachelor's degree programs.

4.      The applicant must obtain valid scores issued by the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas) for both the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) and the Achievement Test (Tahsili), in accordance with the applicable admission criteria.

5.      The applicant must meet the minimum admission percentages required by the national platform for unified admission.

6.      The applicant must be medically fit and capable of fulfilling the academic program requirements.

7.      Applicants to health colleges (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Prince Sultan College for Emergency Medical Services, Applied Medical Sciences, and Nursing) must have no disabilities.

8.      Students who previously withdrew, had their enrollment suspended, or dropped out from the university must have completed four academic semesters (or two academic years for annual-system students) before reapplying, counted from the semester or academic year following the academic action.

9.      The applicant must not have been dismissed from King Saud University or any other university or academic institution for disciplinary or academic reasons.

10.  The applicant must not currently be enrolled at another university inside or outside Saudi Arabia.

11.  The applicant must not have previously obtained a bachelor's degree.

12.  The applicant must not exceed 25 years of age.

13.  Applicants nominated for admission are required to pay the applicable tuition fees within the announced confirmation period. The payment covers the full tuition cost for the first semester (Level 1) of the program.
