Frequently Asked Questions about Admission
1. What is the difference between admission to Academic Excellence Programs and other academic programs?
Application to these programs is available for academically distinguished students according to the following requirements and regulations:
• Medicine and Surgery Program for Academically Distinguished Students:
Applicants must obtain a weighted score of at least 95% to apply. To continue in the program, the student must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least (4.5 out of 5) in the first-year courses as per the program’s plan.
• Engineering and Computer Science Programs for Academically Distinguished Students:
Applicants must obtain a weighted score of at least 90% to apply. To continue in the program, the student must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least (4 out of 5) in the first-year courses as per the program’s plan.

2. What happens if a student does not achieve the required GPA in Academic Excellence Programs after completing the Common First Year ?
If the student does not achieve the required cumulative GPA specified in the Admission Guide for the academic year 2026/2027, they will be transferred to another academic program based on their indicators.

3. Is priority in admission given to students who obtained their high school certificate this year?
No priority is given based on the year of obtaining the high school certificate, provided that applicants comply with the maximum allowable period since graduation as specified in the general admission requirements.

4. Can I apply to King Saud University while I am enrolled at another university or technical college?
Students currently enrolled in another university or college inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are not eligible to apply for undergraduate admission according to the admission requirements of King Saud University.

5. What academic programs are available for application through the National Unified Admission Platform?
You can review the admission requirements, criteria, procedures, and available programs through the Deanship of Admission and Registration Affairs’ website and the published Admission Guide.

6. Can students use their previous year’s General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) and Achievement Test (Tahsili) results?
The highest score obtained within five years prior to the application date will be used, according to the validity period set by the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas).

7. Are students who obtained their high school certificates inside or outside the Kingdom required to take Qiyas tests?
All Saudi students applying for admission must take both the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) and the Achievement Test (Tahsili). These tests are required regardless of the high school track or whether the certificate was obtained inside or outside the Kingdom.

8. Are students from the Business Administration track allowed to enroll in Science or Health colleges?
Students from the Business Administration track are not allowed to enroll in scientific or health colleges. They are only eligible for admission to Business Administration programs and Humanities’ colleges.

9. How are non-Saudi students with Saudi mothers admitted?
Non-Saudi students whose mothers are Saudi are treated as Saudi students.
Applicants must enter their Iqama number in the civil registry field. If admitted, they must provide the original and copies of the following documents:
(Iqama- Passport- Mother’s Saudi national ID- Birth certificate- or Birth certificates of the children (for mothers of Saudi children)).

10. Can non-Saudi students be admitted?
The University attracts distinguished international students who are non-Saudi residents with valid legal residency in Saudi Arabia by offering limited scholarship seats in certain programs, in accordance with the regulations governing such admissions in Saudi universities. The University also offers an electronic admission portal for fee-based bachelor’s programs, featuring a diverse range of academic programs across Health, Science, and Business colleges. Admission is determined based on the admission cutoff percentages on the National Platform for unified admission.

11. Are there any interviews for applicants to Health colleges at King Saud University?
There are no interviews for applicants to programs in Health colleges. However, some applicants may be invited for interviews if deemed necessary by the relevant committee.
If the committee determines that the applicant is not suitable for the nominated program, they will be allowed to compete for their next program preference (within the University) according to the admission criteria.

12. Is it possible to study at the university through distance learning or external study programs?
There are no bachelor’s degree programs offered through external study or distance learning at King Saud University.

13. Can diploma graduates continue to study for a bachelor’s degree at King Saud University?
The university allows a limited number of outstanding diploma graduates from the Community College and the College of Applied Studies at King Saud University to continue their studies toward a bachelor’s degree in specified programs.

14. Can I defer my admission to next year?
Admission to bachelor’s or diploma programs cannot be deferred, but you may reapply the following year.

15. If I withdraw from the university, when can I apply again?
• If the withdrawal occurs during the admission period, you may apply again when admission opens for new students according to the announced criteria.
• If the withdrawal occurs after studies begin, you may apply for reinstatement to the same college according to university regulations.
• If two academic years have passed since your academic record was closed, you may apply again as a new student.

16. Is the application process paper-based or electronic?
The application process is fully online and does not require submitting documents, except for certain cases where applicants may be asked to provide original documents, such as:
